Hey Poppy I think No-Where Man was giving you some good advice that NY is a tough expensive city but I still think if you want to move here you should. I've struggled and so have friends but it is worth it so here is my advice. -don't wait until your work is "ready" it will take you a few years to get established. -take out some credit card debt but not more than a few thousand. -get a loft or apt. share from craigslist.org. the city can be isolating and you will get a better start with roommates. -working at the desk or as art handler is a feasible job. you would make enough and will meet people -Hunter holds open studios in November. I think you have a real shot, it's four years, the people are nice and it's cheap. Take care and good luck.
kelli, where is your blog? i thought you had mentioned before that you contributed to one..definately appreciate the toughtful advice.. sorry i've been busy lately without time to respond properly and i must run again but it is something that i will think about.....thanks again
Hey Poppy I used to be a team member for another blog but am so busy I'm not blogging anymore. A long time ago I recomended Hunter and other people said it's hard to get into but its a big program ( more than 100 people) and your Robot painting is as good as anything I've seen there. Be well.
